THE National Orphans Fund and Brunei-Muara District Orphans Fund received a donation of BND18,436 at a Hari Raya celebration and donation presentation ceremony organised by Harini Catering Service Sdn Bhd and Syarikat Teguh Mesra Sdn Bhd at the Stadium Restaurant in Berakas on Thursday night.
Out of the total, BND9,968 was donated to the National Orphans Fund while the remaining BND8,468 went to the Brunei-Muara District Orphans Fund.
The guest of honour was Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin.
Receiving on behalf of the National Orphans Fund was Acting Director of JAPEM Rostinah binti Pehin Orang Kaya Sura Pahlawan Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Tahir, while receiving on behalf of the Brunei-Muara District Orphans Fund was Brunei-Muara District Officer Misle bin Haji Abdul Karim.
The minister and Lim Chai Huat of Harini Catering also presented Hari Raya green packets to the orphans and special needs individuals.
