AN ACCIDENT at the Tutong Highway late Thursday evening claimed the life of a 21-year-old local woman, the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) said.
The driver of the vehicle, a 27-year-old man, sustained only minor injuries while the woman, who was in the passenger’s seat was pronounced dead at the scene from serious injuries sustained on her head and chest.
Tutong District Police Station Commanding Officer Inspector Ahmad Faez bin Haji Mohd Hani said they received a report at around 11pm on the accident at the vicinity of the Sungai Basong Recreational Park, 65.3km on the Tutong Highway heading towards Belait District.
The driver lost control of the vehicle causing him to hit a large tree by the highway.
