THE Information Department through its Nationhood Unit, Nationhood and Community Division held another nationalism briefing titled ‘Our Sultan, Appreciating Our National Flag and National Anthem’ for more than 200 Year 7 students of Sultan Sharif Ali Secondary School at the school’s multipurpose hall yesterday.
The school’s Principal Mohammad Danny bin Aimi and teachers also attended the briefing.
Assistant Information Officer Mohd Nurakram bin Noraini @ Bahrin delivered the briefing, in which he talked about the history of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, as well as the history behind the national flag and national anthem.
A video presentation was held to help the students understand more on the topics discussed in the briefing.
Quizzes were also conducted at the end of the briefing where students stood a chance to win prizes from the Information Department.
The nationalism briefing was carried out to instil patriotism among local youth as well as to promote the rich culture and history of Brunei Darussalam.
