Twelve Singapore bound for student exchange programme

TWELVE delegates comprising 10 students and two teachers from Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Secondary School (SMYSHHB) left for Singapore for a student exchange programme with River Valley High School on Saturday.

The students are: Awangku Muhd Naail Nazhiimuddin bin Pengiran Haji Besman, Muhammad Adam bin Haji Suib, Muhammad Afif bin Norazmi, Awangku Mohd Athiruddin Alfadian Aimar bin Pengiran Mohd Sufian, Mohammad Hazim Muzdahir Hairul bin Mohd Daud, Muhammad Amzar bin Ahmad Uzir, Dayangku Alya Samhana binti Pengiran Haji Abbas, Dayangku Nur Amalina binti Pengiran Haji Yussof, Siti Hakeemah Sabrina binti Haji Mohamad Sabri and Ummi Solehah binti Haji Aznan.

CEO of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah School Noorhaizamdin bin Haji Mohd Mosbi; Acting Principal of SMYSHHB Hidayatallah Waqiyuddin bin Haji Mohiddin; and Senior Academic Teacher Nur Afiqah binti Haji Sahminan bid farewell to them at the airport.

The participants will be touring the city, and visiting Sentosa, the Science Centre Singapore, and Chinatown. They will also experience the art of Chinese painting, undergo a biodiversity field study at Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve and share Bruneian culture with their Singaporean peers.

The programme aims to give students the opportunity to build confidence, character, and sense of responsibility, equipping them with communication and presentation skills as they compare the educational programmes between Brunei and Singapore.

It also hoped to expose them to the social, economic and cultural aspects of the country and provide them with networking opportunities for future collaboration.
