THE Mukim Kota Batu Consultative Council yesterday held a Tahlil at the Royal Mausoleum for the late parents of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam and Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Bendahara Pengiran Anak Abdul Rahman.
Present at the event were Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, the Minister of Religious Affairs cum Advisor to the Mukim Kota Batu Consultative Council; and Dato Paduka Awang Haji Mohd Roselan bin Haji Mohd Daud, Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Advisor to the Kampong Belimbing Village Consultative Council.
Also in attendance were YB Pehin Orang Kaya Maharaja Kerna Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Ya’akub bin Pehin Orang Kaya Maharaja Diraja Dato Paduka Awang Haji Zainal, a Legislative Council member and Advisor to the Kampong Dato Gandi Village Consultative Council; YB Haji Gapor @ Haji Mohd Daud bin Karim, a Legislative Council member and Village Head of Kampong Belimbing; Acting Penghulu of Mukim Kianggeh, Naim bin Haji Kamis; advisors of the village consultative council under Mukim Kota Batu, village heads and villagers.
Meanwhile, members of the Ex-Soldiers Association of Brunei Darussalam also conducted a similar event at the Royal Mausoleum.
Among those present to perform the recitation of Surah Yaasiin and Tahlil for His Majesty’s late parents were Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports cum former Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Commander Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Lieutenant Colonel (Rtd) Haji Hashim bin Haji Zainal Abidin – who led the congregation, Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Dewa Major General (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Mohammad bin Haji Daud as advisor to the association, and other association members.
