THE Red Bull Warriors Championship 2018 grand finale was held at the International School Brunei (ISB) yesterday.
The event gathered the nation’s top futsal players in the final match.
Red Bull Weekend Warriors collaborated to organise the biggest Individual Amateur Futsal Championship in Brunei Darussalam that gathered 2,000 players to compete for the coveted champion title the past month. Players competed in 143 games which kicked off on July 1. Each player competed to maintain their names; reflecting the Top Players, Top Scorers, Top Assists and Top Goalkeepers. The final leaderboards will be shown in real time, leading up to the prize presentation.
PertCech emerged as Top Goalkeeper with 299 points, AB awarded Top Assist with 26 points. Intern emerged as both Top Scorer and Top Player with 47 scores and 276 points.
Red Bull has been a mainstay presence in the futsal scene over the years, having carried out several Tri-Nation tournaments bridging the futsal community of Brunei, Malaysia and Singapore. Weekend Warriors also garnered tremendous success over the years by providing players a unique and personal futsal experience. The collaboration, recognised by the MCYS, brought Brunei Darussalam’s largest ever-individual futsal championship while riding on the momentum of the recent FIFA World Cup.
Other official partners were MMW, AirAsia, Kappa and ISB.
