AS PART of its annual religious activity to enliven the holy month of Ramadhan, the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism (MPRT) yesterday opened its Tedarus recitation ceremony and hosted the breaking of fast at the Suri Seri Begawan Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque in Kampong Madang.
Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism Dato Paduka Awang Haji Ali bin Haji Apong led the ministry-wide event, which was attended by officials from all its departments.
The event commenced with the recitation of the Surah Al-Fatihah led by Dato Paduka Awang Haji Ali, followed by the Tedarus recitation and breaking of fast before performing mass Maghrib prayer.
The MPRT delegation will continue the Tedarus recital at the Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque in Mukim Kilanas on Wednesday and later at the Pengiran Anak Puteri Hajah Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah Mosque in Kampong Sungai Akar on June 21.

MPRT said the annual tradition aims to foster closer relations between personnel, mosque congregants and nearby residents nearby, aside from glorifying Islam and increasing devotion during the holy month.
Also present at the ceremony yesterday was Permanent Secretary at MPRT Dr Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin and senior MPRT officials.
