IN ITS commitment to strengthen the global health and safety workplace standards, Progresif launched the Health and Safety Environment (HSE) Manual Handbook and Emergency Evacuation Video at a ceremony held at Progresif Headquarters in Gadong yesterday.
Launching the two important assets for Progresif was the guest of honour, Board member of Progresif and Lead Director of HSE Steering Committee Edzwan Zukri bin Pehin Dato Adanan.
The Progresif Board member encouraged all staff in the company to continuously reinforce its health and safety principles at the workplace. “We must ensure we execute and ensure consistency (on HSE) because even the best prepared guidelines have little impact unless you are able to surpass the issues and together improve our work ethics.”
He also expressed his appreciation to the personnel from the Fire and Rescue Department for sharing their knowledge and expertise on overall fire safety.
Prior to the launch, CEO of Progresif Paul Taylor highlighted the importance of adopting health and safety in the workplace as part of a company’s culture.
“A safe and healthy working environment can only be achieved through a system that clearly defines the responsibilities of the safety personnel, cooperation among all employees and treating it as an integral part of company culture.”
He believed the new HSE handbook and evacuation video can stimulate an environment that is conducive for learning and better promotes awareness for occupational health and safety in Progresif.
The launch of the HSE Manual Handbook and Emergency Evacuation Video also aligned with the call made by the Ministry of Communications on improving the overall monitoring of health and safety in the workplace across all sectors.
Certificates were also presented to newly trained fire marshals from Progresif by the Deputy Director of the Fire and Rescue Department Lim Hock Guan.
A safety briefing talk was conducted by Public Relations Officer from the Fire and Rescue Department Andi Kermila Waty binti Haji Abdul Karim.
