THE Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam (AMBD) in collaboration with the Employees Trust Fund (TAP) organised its second day of Financial Showcase at The Mall, Gadong yesterday.
The showcase’s objective was to provide an opportunity for consumers to compare financial products offered in the country under one roof and conduct financial health checks.
The showcase featured games and activities such as the Troli Bajet and AMBD Financial Hunt which saw the participation of local financial institutions and agencies, namely, Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD), Baiduri Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Perbadanan Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei (TAIB), Takaful Brunei Keluarga (TBK), Great Eastern Life Assurance, TAP, Financial Planning Association of Brunei Darussalam (FPAB), and Centre For Islamic Banking, Finance and Management (CIBFM).
The Ministry of Health also participated in the showcase to share information on mental health.
Yesterday’s event was the conclusion of a series of events held in conjunction with the National Savings Day 2018 where AMBD had previously held roadshows at four educational institutions starting with Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Girls Arabic Religious Secondary School (SUAMPRIPAHS) followed with Saiyyidina Ali Secondary School (SMSA), Tutong Sixth Form Centre (PTET) and Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE).
The roadshow was followed by a Financial Fun Fair held at Jerudong Park Colonnade on August 4-5.
The National Savings Day, which was inaugurated on May 28, 2015 by His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, in his capacity as the Chairman of AMBD, has attracted over 4,000 participants and visitors nationwide.
