FORTY participants from Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB), Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) and Centre for Science Technology Research and Development at the Ministry of Defence attended the Editor’s Workshop for ACI and Scopus at the Institute for Leadership, Innovation and Advancement (ILIA) Building, UBD yesterday.
The workshop was jointly organised by the ACI Secretariat, UTB, and UBD with the objective to introduce the ASEAN Citation Index (ACI) to editors of Brunei journals and facilitate inclusion of Brunei journals in its database.
The guest of honour was Deputy Permanent Secretary (Higher Education) at the Ministry of Education Dr Chin Wei Keh.
The workshop provided editors of Brunei journals on the process of journal submissions and selection criteria for inclusion into the ACI database.
It was conducted by members of ACI Steering Committee based in Thailand.
Chairman and member of ACI Steering Committee Dr Nongyao Sripromsuk delivered a presentation and was assisted by Preeyanuch Ratchatahiran of Thailand Citation Index.
Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Research) of UBD Dr Abby Tan Chee Hong provided updates on scholarly journals in UBD while UTB’s Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Research) Professor Dr Zuruzi Abu Samah presented on Knowledge Creation and Dissemination in UTB.
