THE Young Entrepreneurs Association of Brunei (YEAB) and Progresif Cellular Sdn Bhd signed an agreement to collaborate in developing entrepreneurs recently.
During the INSIGHT Business Networking and Dinner event that took place at the Radisson Hotel on September 5, YEAB President Fatin binti Arifin and Progresif CEO Paul Taylor signed certificates of partnership to mark the collaboration.
Speaking to the Weekend Bulletin, Fatin explained that the partnership is to collaborate on a number of initiatives “including the YEAB INSIGHT, the ‘OpenChats’ that have been hosted every month and also Business Mentorship Series and corporate social responsibilility activities for the next one year”.
“The whole idea is to collaborate on developing entrepreneurs in Brunei,” she said.
The YEAB President added, “I think one of the things we’re keen to leverage on with Progresif is their innovation capabilities. So we’d like to see how we as entrepreneurs can learn from Progresif.”
Meanwhile, Paul Taylor said, “A large part of our CSR programme is about entrepreneurial support, so we put together a programme with the Young Entrepreneurs Association of Brunei that will involve speaking engagements and mentoring.”
He added that it is a 12-month programme and builds upon work that it has done with other agencies and some of the other innovation support functions that it regularly attends or creates.
In addition to the signing ceremony for the partnership, the third edition of INSIGHT gathered entrepreneurs for a roundtable dinner and a fireside chat on the topic, ‘Capturing Innovation: Is There Such a Thing as Perfect Timing?’
INSIGHT is supported by Progresif and Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD), and the event brought together over 60 entrepreneurs from various fields and industries.
