GENERASI Bekarih marked another historic moment on their first anniversary of establishment by instilling leadership among 105 youth who participated in the Leaders Foundation Camp 4.0 (LFC4.0) programme co-organised by it and Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah for three days and two nights at Mahad Islam Brunei, Tutong.

The programme ended with a launching ceremony yesterday attended by Managing Director of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Dato Paduka Eddie bin Dato Paduka Haji Sunny as the guest of honour.

The ceremony began with Generasi Bekarih COO Syukri bin Jamil leading a march-past by the LFC 4.0 participants before the honorary guests followed by the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah.

The participants then took a pledge led by Generasi Bekarih CEO Hanis bin Osman followed by a speech from the LFC 4.0 co-organisers.

The ceremony also saw Yayasan presenting tokens of appreciation to Mahad Islam Brunei and the programme’s supporter Cuckoo International (B) Sdn Bhd.

Generasi Bekarih also presented a souvenir to Yayasan as the co-organiser of the programme.

The ceremony continued with the presentation of certificates to the participants and concluded with refreshment and a video showcase.

The camp was aimed at helping youth with self-improvement through mentoring and training towards fostering youth to play key roles as leaders.

The camping activity began on Friday with Generasi Bekarih facilitators conducting sharing sessions among the participants to foster friendship among themselves as well as unlocking their potential in building and enhancing their leadership qualities. It continued with discussions about dreams, missions and visions towards building themselves as a youth.

On Saturday, the LFC 4.0 saw participants trained in team work activities to develop their cooperation, tolerance and mutual help among others. Other activities included training youth to enhance their communication skills as a leader. Later in the day, the participants engaged in discussions on their role as a youth and how they can engage in helping communities with charitable, social and cultural activities.

Yesterday, the last day of the camp, participants were challenged in a physical activity focussing on the deeper understanding of the basics as a leader, helping to change their way of thinking and learning how to guide others as effective leaders. This was followed with a self-reflection session.

Generasi Bekarih is a group comprising former Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) youth that are active in organising leadership and motivational programmes and courses to youth in the country.
