CONFEX has announced that it will be holding its second Mobile Consumer Showcase (MCS 2) from July 29-31.

The announcement was made in a press conference at CONFEX’s office in the capital, which was led by CONFEX Operations Manager Dayangku Maznah binti Pengiran Badarudin and Project Leader Rosli bin Abdullah.

The highlights of the showcase will include top of the line cars, state of the art device and mobile applications.

This second iteration of the showcase will be taking place at the Airport Curbside, on the ground floor, Departure Hall at the Brunei International Airport in Berakas.

Explaining in the press conference why they chose the venue, Rosli said that conventionally event organisers would choose a shopping centre.

“CONFEX is the first company to dare to organise such an event at the airport. We chose this venue because we needed to find a different aspect as an event organiser,” he said. “The airport is the main target for incoming and outward passengers. They have buying power.”

The holding of MCS 2 is in response to the success of the first MCS held last year at The Mall in Gadong, where more than three thousand visitors attended.

“With the rapid changes in the mobile telecommunications industry, MCS 2 aims to introduce not only the latest and soon to be released phone models, but also the latest trends in mobile applications where these development have undeniably changed and improved our everyday lives,” said the organisers.

This year’s theme for the Mobile Consumer Showcase is ‘Innovation. Technology. People.’ The three-day event will feature a number of exhibitors, including prominent car dealers displaying their latest models, particularly those with built-in technology such as wifi, while banking institutions will promote their mobile banking applications.

The organisers also highlighted that there will be “one-of-a-kind” special offers for post-Hari Raya festivities. “Every exhibitor will prepare a very good deal,” said Rosli.

CONFEX shared that recent studies show that 50 per cent of phones’ capabilities are not used due to a lack of information. MCS 2 will thus give consumers the opportunity to be better informed on products and services so they are able to make the full use of their mobile gadgets.

“We want to educate the public in terms of the proper use of mobile phones and mobile apps. This is our main aim,” Rosli added.

Mobile and IT-related businesses are welcome to join the showcase. For further enquiries, people can contact CONFEX Assistant Project Leader Albert Gutierrez or their office.

CONFEX is a registered training service provider that specialises in corporate meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions. Having hosted over 100 workshops and other events since 2012, it provides strategic business information dedicated to producing high quality and innovative events.
