A DONATION and Sungkai event for a total of 200 orphans from Mukim Gadong ‘A’ and ‘B’ was hosted by the International Women’s Club of Brunei (IWCB) in keeping with the charitable initiatives in this blessed month of Ramadhan at the Kampong Perpindahan Mata-Mata Mosque, Gadong.
Present was Ungku Datin Hajah Fanzah binti Ungku Haji Osman, President of IWCB, along with members of IWCB.
The event began with a brief welcoming remark from the Village Head of Kampong Perpindahan Mata-Mata, Pengiran Haji Mohd Salleh bin Pengiran Haji Abdul Rahman, followed by the recitation of the Surah Al-Fatihah by the Imam of the mosque, Imam Abdul Wafi bin Haji Awang.
To bless the event further, a Doa Tahlil was recited, led by Imam Abdul Wafi, followed by the presentation of cash donations and goodie bags to each of the children presented by the president; the Honorary Vice President, Dyna Tan; honorary members consisting of spouses of the Diplomatic Corps, committee members and members of the club.
The cash donations and goodie bags are from the club’s collection during fundraising events and the recent International Food Fair. In addition, several members of the IWCB have generously given their personal donations for the event.
IWCB’s aim is to bring joy and uplift the orphans so they can celebrate a meaningful month of Ramadhan.
