YANG Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Muntaqim ibni Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Paduka Seri Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah was among 70 Year 7 students of International School Brunei (ISB) who attended a briefing yesterday on the importance of the correct procedures of hoisting and lowering the national flag, along with the history, meaning and concept of the national flag and anthem.
The briefing titled ‘Appreciating the National Anthem and National Flag’ was conducted by Hajah Hamsah binti Datu Kerna Haji Jaya, the Head of the Nationhood Unit, Information Department at the Prime Minister’s Office.
Led by the school’s Acting Principal Laura Thomas, the students also watched video presentations titled Kibarkan Bendera Negara Dengan Megah, Semarak Pengibaran Bendera Negara, and an animation clip titled Tatacara Menaikkan Bendera Negara as well as a short video clip on the Information Department’s mobile app, InfoDeptBN.
A quiz was also hosted by the Information Department with prizes awarded to the students with the correct answers.
The briefing is part of an ongoing continuing programme with the objective of instilling a sense of patriotism among students in addition to respect and appreciation towards their country, religion and the monarchy.
