Fisheries carnival provides venue for local entrepreneurs

THE Fishery Department, Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism in collaboration with local fisheries entrepreneurs is currently holding the Mini Fisheries Carnival at Fish Landing Complex in Muara. The mini carnival will conclude tomorrow and is open from 8am till 5pm.

Nine local entrepreneurs in capture industries, two from local aquaculture industries and 12 from local seafood processing industries are participating in the event. The event aims to promote the campaign ‘Makan Ikan’ to youth.

Fresh seafood include fish, prawn, crab, and more.

The aquaculture sector is also selling high quality seafood such as seabass, Kerapu, Pompano fish and more. Seafood processing sectors are marketing products including crackers, paste, dried fish and smoked fish.
