Info Dept reaches out to residents at dialogue session

THE Information Department organised an Information Dialogue Session (PMP) for Mukim Bukit Sawat, at the Kampung Sungai Mau Community Hall yesterday.

Acting Director of Information Hajah Noorashidah binti Haji Aliomar, who chaired the meeting said that the session was conducted in response to the titah by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, in which His Majesty hoped that the government will continue to uphold the prosperity and comfort of the residents as a priority, by meeting their everyday basic needs and accessibility.

She noted that in line with the roles and responsibilities of the Information Department, the information related to the current issues and government policies can be explained and shared during the PMP, and that the appropriate feedback can be given by government agencies.

“We hope that the residents of Mukim Bukit Sawat and the surrounding villages will express their views or address issues and problems faced, and at the same time, receiving answers and explanations from the relevant government agencies during the session,” she added.

Present were a line of panellists consisting of heads of departments and senior officials from governments department and agencies, as well as Telekom Brunei Berhad (TelBru).

Also present were members of the Legislative Council (LegCo) Acting Penghulu of Mukim Bukit Sawat Yang Berhormat Haji Abdul Hamid bin Haji Mumin; and Acting Penghulu of Mukim Labi and Village Head of Kampung Labi 1 Yang Berhormat Awang Hanapi bin Mohd Siput, as well as head of villages and longhouses in the Mukim Bukit Sawat area, senior officials, officers, and staff members from the various government agencies and TelBru.

Government department and agencies also set up booth disseminate information as well as providing opportunities for the residents to learn more from government departments and agencies.

Apart from the PMP, the Information Department also conducted Personal Contact Programmes to establish a closer relationship between the agency and members of the public, as well as the Awasi Anak Kitani programme, for parents to highlight the importance of keeping their children safe from the misuse of drugs and external influence.
