SURVEY Department emerged winners of the Ministry of Development and its departments under it 11-a-side Football Championship 2018 after defeating the Department of Administration and Finance 4-1 in an enthralling final at the Balapan Track and Field of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex last night.
Department of Administration and Finance went in front through Lim Shen Quan in the 16th minute but the lead was wiped out by Haji Md Subhi Abdilah bin Haji Bakir in the 22nd minute before Safwan Amaliddin bin Sabli helped Survey into the lead in the 28th minute.
Subhi netted his second of the game and Fakhri Ismail completed the scoring with the fourth goal in the 56th minute while Abang Nor Sillmy bin Abang Haji Taha came close with a ferocious drive from range.
Department of Water Services came third after beating the Department of Drainage and Sewerage 5-3 in penalties after the score had been locked 1-1 in normal time.
Minister of Development Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suhaimi bin Haji Gafar, presented the prizes.
Jointly organised by the Department of Drainage and Sewerage and Department of Administration and Finance, a total of 12 teams took part in the tournament.
