AS PART of the religious activities during the holy month of Ramadhan, a Khatam Al-Quran and a Zikir ceremony took place at the Balai Penghadapan Bukit Kayangan last night.
The ceremony was overseen by Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Laila Kanun Diraja Pengiran Haji Bahrin bin Pengiran Haji Abbas. The Khatam Al-Quran was attended by Cabinet Ministers and senior government officials.
The ceremony started with the recitationof the Surah Al-Fatihah by YB Pehin Datu Imam Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Hamid bin Bakal, a Legislative Council member followed by the recitation of the Al-Quran from Surah Ad-Dhuha to Surah Al-Masad.
The recitation of Surah Ad-Dhuha was carried out by the Minister of Home Affairs, Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong.

Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar then recited the Takhtim, Tahlil and Doa Khatam to conclude the Khatam Al-Quran.
The event proceeded with a Zikir ceremony to conclude the religious event with Pehin-Pehin Khatib leading the recitation of the Zikir. The Zikir ceremony started with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah by Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Awang Haji Emran bin Haji Kunchang.
