TAI Chi members from the Wushu Federation of Brunei Darussalam on Sunday impressed delegates from around the world when they performed the Malay traditional dance at the dinner reception of the Beijing International Tai Chi Quian Exchange and Beijing International Tai Chi Rouliqiu Exchange.
The 10 Tai Chi members from Brunei also took part in a Tai Chi session at the Sport and Wushu University in Beijing and learnt proper techniques of taiji, qigong, wushu and more.
According to Vincent Pao, the Public Relations Officer of the Brunei-Muara District Branch of the Wushu Federation of Brunei, “Brunei’s performance captured the heart of the delegates from around the world. It was amazing.”
“We were able to forge friendships with many countries and also took part in a Tai Chi performance with other delegates at the International Team performance.”
The aim of Brunei’s participation was to look and further build on friendship among tai chi practitioners around the world and to learn as well as gain knowledge on the progress of Tai Chi. Brunei’s delegation was led by Woo Chung Heng, the Vice-President of the Wushu Federation of Brunei Darussalam who is also the Head of Tai Chi in the association.
