FIFTEEN members of the Brunei Darussalam Veteran Athletics Association left for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia yesterday to participate in the 32nd Malaysian International Open Masters Athletics Championships. The event is held from today until tomorrow.

Brunei Darussalam Veteran Athletics Association General Secretary Hajah Mariah binti Haji Metussin is leading the team.

Team manager Haji Abu Bakar bin Haji Pungut said the athletes are participating in all track and field categories such as 100m sprint, 1,500m run, javelin, shot put and disc throw.

He added that they have had training frequently.

“They participated in a championship in Pulau Pinang and Hong Kong, so they are always prepared,” Haji Abu Bakar said.
