HIS Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik, Chairman of the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Committee of Governors visited the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex in the capital yesterday.
His Royal Highness’ visit reflected his concern over the ongoing efforts of Yayasan in addressing developments and issues relating to Yayasan including plans to increase revenue and attract tenants and visitors.
There are 79 tenants at the complex.
His Royal Highness was greeted by Minister of Defence II and Chairman of the Yayasan Board of Directors Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof and Minister of Development and Yayasan Board of Directors member and Chairman of Wadah Amal Sdn Bhd Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suhaimi bin Haji Gafar.
Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, Yayasan Board of Directors member and Deputy Chairperson of Wadah Amal Sdn Bhd Datin Seri Paduka Dayang Hajah Elinda binti Haji CA Mohamed, Managing Director of Yayasan Dato Paduka Eddie bin Dato Paduka Haji Sunny and members of Board of Directors of Wadah Amal Sdn Bhd were also present.
His Royal Highness was briefed on the latest development of Yayasan Complex at the Central Atrium of the ground floor of Yayasan Complex. General Manager of Wadah Amal Sdn Bhd Fazlan bin Haji Othman presented a description of new shops as well as planned activities for this year and the future.
His Royal Highness visited several shops on the ground floor and first floor including the food court. His Royal Highness mingled with vendors and asked about their businesses and posed for group photographs. His Royal Highness also visited the surau of the complex.
His Royal Highness visited the shopping area at the basement floor and was briefed on plans for the area. His Royal Highness concluded his visit with a Santap at the multipurpose hall at the 4th floor of the complex.
Yayasan Complex was officiated by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam on August 19, 1996.
The complex is a project under Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah where returns from investments are used to finance operations and charities run by the Foundation.
In late 2016, the management of Yayasan Complex was handed over to Wadah Amal Sdn Bhd.
Wadah Amal Sdn Bhd is a company owned by the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.
