Three locals compete in International Senior Classic Bowling in Penang

THREE local senior citizens are in Penang, Malaysia competing in the first International Senior Classic Grand Seniors Bowling Extravaganza ‘Bringing Together A Golden Generation’ held from October 22-26.

The group of three is led by Haji Awang Damit bin Haji Sulaiman, 65, accompanied by Haji Mohd V Elleys Abdullah, 64, and Abdul Samat Dato Seri Paduka Haji Marsal, 64.

They will compete against more than 90 bowlers from various countries including Singapore, Malaysia, Germany, Australia, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, China, and New Zealand.

The tournament only features a singular category, which is the Open Category for both male and female bowlers.

Bowlers are assigned into a team of four, doubles or singles, and the top 40 bowlers will advance to the qualifying round of the Masters semi-finals and is further trimmed to 20 for the Masters grand final.
