A TOTAL of 632 National Technical Education Certificate (NTec) and Industrial Skills Qualification (ISQ) graduates received certificates during the afternoon session of the 26th Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) Convocation at the Plenary Hall of the International Convention Centre in Berakas yesterday.
Guest of honour, Deputy Minister of Energy, Manpower and Industry Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Matsatejo bin Sokiaw presented certificates to 632 graduates from the seven IBTE campuses – Sultan Saiful Rijal, Nakhoda Ragam, Mechanical, Business, Jefri Bolkiah, Sultan Bolkiah and Agro-Technology.
The ceremony began with a mass recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah Mosque, Kampong Sungai Akar Iman Haji Md Saadullah bin Md Salleh.
IBTE plays an important role in providing the country with a skilled workforce to promote the social and economic development of the nation.
As the principal provider of technical education and training, the courses offered focus on the development of practical skills (competency-based).
Full-time programmes include NTec level, Higher National Technical Education Certificate (HNTec) level, Brunei Maritime Academy (BMA) programmes at the Certificate of Proficiency (COP) level, Diploma (BMA) and apprenticeship programmes.
IBTE also offers part-time programmes through Continuing Education and Training (CET) to promote lifelong learning.
