A CONVOCATION ceremony was held for 1,541 technical education graduates from nine Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) campuses across the country on Thursday.
During the event, Liyana Amalina Khairunnisa binti Sani, an Operation Theatre Assistant Diploma graduate, told the Weekend Bulletin that she aimed to pursue her studies to a higher level.
She currently works at the Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre (PJSC) with occasional postings to the Maxillofacial and Plastic Reconstructive Surgery Department in Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital. She planned to gain more experience and exposure in this field.
“I hope to pursue this course further, so that I can gain more knowledge to apply to my work and help other people, especially those undergoing surgery,” she said.
For Azrie bin Mohammad Suhaily, who graduated from the National Technical Education Certificate (NTec) programme in Culinary Operations, his learning experiences have motivated him to work hard in order to achieve his goals.
“I thank Allah the Almighty for this blessing and I hope to contribute towards our country’s social and economic development,” he added.
Meanwhile, Dayangku Dor Putri Aminah binti Pengiran Haji Kaharuddin said she will continue her studies and join the Higher National Technical Education Certificate (HNTec) in Info-Technology (IT).
She passed her NTec in IT with flying colours and looks forward to more study challenges in the same course at a higher level.
“The NTec programme was challenging, but it became more interesting and fun as we progressed,” she said.
“Of course, I am aware that as we go up to another level, there’ll be more challenges, but I am ready to work hard with full commitment and dedication.”
