BANK Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) launched its 13th Home Showcase Festival yesterday. The event highlighted the benefits of home ownership and providing a one-stop platform for current and prospective homeowners, particularly the younger generation.
The two-day home showcase at BIBD’s Kiulap Branch sees the bank partnering with realtors and interior designers showcasing their products and services to complement visitors’ search for their future homes.
The showcase also features Fabular, its event partner, who launched their Village and introduced visitors to affordable and minimalist home opportunities and lifestyle, the future homes targetting millennials.
The guest of honour, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Development Dr Nor Imtihan binti Haji Abdul Razak officiated the showcase.
BIBD’s Head of Retail Banking Hajah Nurul Akmar binti Haji Md Jaafar in her speech, said, “There are only a few emotions you can relate to when you first step into your dream home. It represents the next steps in your life, where your family will grow and where you go to at the end of a busy day. We at BIBD want to ensure that your dream is realised by being with you in every step of the way.”
The event also serves as an avenue for some 30 local entrepreneurs and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and fpr promoting cashless payments with the BIBD Quickpay, under the BIBD NexGen solutions.
BIBD in a statement said that this is part of its efforts to support the de-cashing of the economy with seamless transactions via mobile-led technologies. “These services are part of our NexGen platform that caters towards mobility and convenience, aimed to bridge the digital gap between customers and business owners, particularly budding entrepreneurs,” the bank added.
All home financing applications, products and services taken up throughout the event will also be automatically entered to the BIBD Barakah 8 that offers an Umrah Package as main prize.
Besides offering special discounted rates and waivers on processing fees, there are also vouchers by The Coffee Bean Brunei and up to 100,000 Hadiah Points for new credit card applications.
Meanwhile as part of BIBD’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative and its support towards the cause of breast cancer awareness, representatives from Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre (PJSC) are also at the event to promote awareness on the disease.
