A ROYAL Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) personnel, 52179 Private Mohammad Jamarul Rosaidy bin Jamily from the 3rd Battalion Royal Brunei Land Force recited the Syahadah as he embraced Islam yesterday at the Surau Ar-Rahmah, Lumut Camp of the 3rd Battalion RBLF.
Commander of the RBAF Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud was the guest of honour.
Also present during the ceremony were Legislative Council (LegCo) member and Penghulu of Mukim Liang Yang Berhormat Haji Abdul Hamid bin Haji Mumin, LegCo member and Village Head of Kampong Labi 1 Yang Berhormat Hanapi bin Mohd Siput, Service Commander of the RBAF Ridzuan bin Haji Ahmad, Acting Belait District Officer Roslan bin Haji Ratu, Head Religious Officer at the Belait District Haji Asminan bin Haji Chuchu, directors and officers from the RBAF and the Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) as well as family members.
The ceremony began with mass recitation of verses from Al-Quran, and was followed by Mohammad Jamarul Rosaidy’s declaration of Syahadah led by an officer from the PDI.
The ceremony continued with the sprinkling of scented flowers and the presentation of gifts by the guest of honour, the invited guests and families; and was enlivened with recitation of Dikir Marhaban.
