HIS Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam yesterday evening consented to attend a Royal Banquet held in conjunction with the coronation of His Royal Highness Al Aminul Karim Sultan Sallehuddin ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Badlishah as the 29th Sultan of Kedah Darul Aman, at Istana Anak Bukit, Kedah Darul Aman.
Accompanying Their Majesties at the reception was His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen. Also in attendance were Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Amal Umi Kalthum Al-Islam and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Indera Setia Diraja Sahibul Karib Pengiran Anak Haji Idris bin Pengiran Maharaja Lela Pengiran Muda Abdul Kahar.
ROYAL BANQUET
Upon arrival at Anjung Melur, Istana Anak Bukit, Their Majesties were greeted by Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Tengku Sarafudin Badlishah ibni Sultan Sallehuddin, the Raja Muda of Kedah and Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Che Puan Muda Zaheeda binti Mohamad Ariff, the Raja Puan Muda of Kedah; Yang Teramat Mulia Dato’ Seri DiRaja Tan Sri Tunku Abdul Hamid Thani ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Badlishah, the Tunku Bendahara of Kedah and Datin Seri DiRaja Puan Seri Dato’ Nora binti Abdullah; Yang Teramat Mulia Dato’ Seri DiRaja Tan Sri Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz binti Al-Marhum Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah, the Tunku Temenggong of Kedah; Yang Teramat Mulia Dato’ Tunku Shazuddin Ariff ibni Sultan Sallehuddin, the Tunku Laksamana of Kedah; as well as Dato’ Seri Haji Mukhriz bin Tun Dr Mahathir, the Chief Minister of Kedah and Tok Puan Norzieta binti Zakaria.
Their Majesties were then invited to sign a Commemorative Parchment, before proceeding to Balai Penghadapan Besar. From there, Their Majesties proceeded to the Balairung Seri Besar for a group photo session with His Royal Highness Al Aminul Karim Sultan Sallehuddin and Her Royal Highness Sultanah Maliha; as well as other Malaysian royal family members and distinguished guests.
The royal entourage then walked from Balairung Seri Besar to Balai Santapan Besar alongside other royal guests.
The song Allah Selamat Sultan was played to greet the arrival of His Royal Highness the Sultan of Kedah Darul Aman, Her Royal Highness the Sultanah of Kedah Darul Aman and the royal guests at the banquet table.
The evening’s proceedings were enlivened with a cultural and singing performance.
At the end of the banquet, Their Majesties proceeded to the Balai Penghadapan Besar together with His Royal Highness the Sultan of Kedah Darul Aman and Her Royal Highness the Sultanah of Kedah Darul Aman alongside other Malaysian royal family members and distinguished guests, before leaving the event.
Born on April 30, 1942 at Istana Anak Bukit, Alor Setar, His Royal Highness Al Aminul Karim Sultan Sallehuddin was proclaimed as the 29th Sultan of Kedah Darul Aman following the passing of Al-Marhum Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah on September 11, 2017.
DEPARTURE TO BRUNEI
Their Majesties, His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen, Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Amal Umi Kalthum Al-Islam, and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Indera Setia Diraja Sahibul Karib Pengiran Anak Haji Idris left Alor Setar for Brunei the same evening. Present at Sultan Abdul Halim Airport to bid farewell to Their Majesties were Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Tengku Sarafudin Badlishah and Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Che Puan Muda Zaheeda; Yang Teramat Mulia Dato’ Seri DiRaja Tan Sri Tunku Abdul Hamid Thani and Datin Seri DiRaja Puan Seri Dato’ Nora; Yang Teramat Mulia Dato’ Seri DiRaja Tan Sri Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz; as well as Dato’ Seri Haji Mukhriz and Tok Puan Norzieta.
Also present at the airport were High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to Malaysia Dato Paduka Haji Alaihuddin bin Pehin Orang Kaya Digadong Seri Lela Dato Seri Utama Haji Awang Mohd Taha and spouse.
Their Majesties walked past a static guard of honour mounted by members of the Sixth Battalion of the Royal Malay Regiment of Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah Camp.
A Doa Selamat was recited by the State Mufti of Kedah Darul Aman, Sohibus Samahah Dato’ Sheikh Fadzil bin Haji Awang, prior to Their Majesties boarding the special aircraft.
ARRIVAL IN ALOR SETAR
Their Majesties landed at Sultan Abdul Halim Airport, Alor Setar in the afternoon and were received by His Royal Highness Al Aminul Karim Sultan Sallehuddin, the Sultan of Kedah Darul Aman and Her Royal Highness Sultanah Maliha, the Sultanah of Kedah Darul Aman.

DEPARTURE TO ALOR SETAR
Their Majesties left for Alor Setar early yesterday morning. Prior to leaving Istana Nurul Iman, a Doa Selamat was recited by State Mufti Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned.
Present at His Majesty the Sultan’s Flight Hangar in Rimba to bid farewell to Their Majesties were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office; Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab Rahaman; His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik; Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Raabi’atul ‘Adawiyyah binti Pengiran Haji Bolkiah; His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Wakeel; His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah; Her Royal Highness Princess Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Nor’ain; and Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Amal Nasibah.
Also present to bid Their Majesties farewell were Cabinet Ministers, members of the Privy Council, deputy ministers, the Commissioner of the Royal Brunei Police Force, and the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, as well as their spouses.
