TEN-MAN Setia Perdana were handed a tough reality check in their first taste of DST Super League football after suffering a heavy 11-0 defeat by Kasuka FC at the Berakas Sports Complex on Sunday night.

The newly-promoted side won the DST Premier League title last season but their start in the top flight pinpointed signs of a long season having trailed 5-0 at the break.

Mohd Hanif Aiman Haji Adanan went on a scoring spree with four goals during the emphatic rout.

Md Khairul Anwar Abdul Rahim opened the floodgates in the first minute before Md Mardi Mirza Abdullah Bujang doubled the lead with a 10th minute penalty.

Md Mardi grabbed his second of the game in the 26th minute before Mohd Hanif Aiman scored a quick-fire double just before the interval.

Setia Perdana were reduced to 10 men after Md Sukariani bin Haji Pundut was given his marching orders in the 39th minute.

Mohd Hanif Aiman completed his hat-trick in the 51st minute before Muhd Hanif Farhan Azman made it 6-0 in the 69th minute. Md Maududi Hilmi Kasmi got off of the bench to extend his side’s lead two minutes later.

Mohd Nazri Haji Hassan found the net in the 78th minute and Muhd Nazhan Zulkifle added his name in the score-sheet in the 86th minute.

Mohd Hanif Aiman compounded Setia Perdana’s misery with a strike one minute from time.

Meanwhile, Lun Bawang responded the departure of star man Petrus bin Jumat with a highly-entertaining 3-2 victory over Najip I-Team.

Patrick bin Layang opened the scoring a minute into the second half before Rosandy bin Bujang doubled the lead in the 48th minute.

Najip staged a comeback through Awangku Mohd Hazim bin Pengiran Salleh in the 65th minute and Abang Hazim bin Abang Hadzman in the 67th minute.

However, Enikati Mambak scored the winner for the Temburong outfit in the 77th minute to spark joyous scenes at the Balapan Track and Field of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex.

The other match also saw newly promoted side IKLS FC edge MS PDB 1-0 to mark a happy return to the top flight since 2015.
