LOCAL products from the ‘One Village, One Product’ initiative of all the four districts are currently available at the Village Entrepreneurs Festival at The Airport Mall, Berakas following the opening ceremony yesterday.
The festival held until November 4 was officiated by the guest of honour Minister of Home Affairs Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong.
Eighteen participants of the festival are from village consultative councils (MPK) nationwide displaying the uniqueness of their products while the remaining 36 participants of the festival are local small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Village Head of Kampong Kilanas Haji Mohd Rais bin Haji Sabtu said, “This festival is organised by Kampong Kilanas Village Consultative Council in cooperation with the Brunei-Muara District Office and is supported by the Tutong District Office, Temburong District Office and Belait District Office.
“The aim of the festival is to promote local SMEs as well as products under the village consultative councils in the country through the ‘One Village, One Product’ initiative.”
Following the launch, the minister and senior officials toured the booths at the festival. The minister also launched the new products under MPK RPN Panchor Mengkubau during the tour.
