THE International School Brunei (ISB) Under-15 team returned home yesterday after bagging a medal haul of 149 at the FOBISIA (Federation of British International Schools in Asia) Games in Phuket, Thailand.
The 26-member ISB team competed in four events namely track and field, swimming, football and basketball. This year’s results are an improvement compared to previous years as they secured podium finishes in all events.
ISB clinched top spot as the Best Performing School in swimming winning 36 out of 40 events. In track and field, ISB grabbed a podium spot with second best overall.
The girls team gained a hard-fought second place finish in football, suffering a narrow loss in the final match. In basketball, the girls claimed bronze. The boys team showed total dominance in basketball and stormed to win the gold medal, but were beaten in the football final match and settled for second best.
The FOBISIA Games is an annual three-day sporting competition involving international schools in Asia.
