ELEVEN undergraduates from the Faculty of Integrated Technologies (FIT) and School of Business and Economics (SBE) under Universiti Brunei Darussalam organised a two-day ‘Youth Business Drive’ at the Tasik Sarubing Recreational Park in Kampong Belimbing recently.
The event was organised as part of their module requirement. Twenty-seven local vendors participated in the event
Village Head of Kampong Belimbing Haji Gapor @ Haji Mohd Daud bin Karim was the guest of honour.
The event was enlivened with the ‘Youth Business Experience Talks’ sharing session conducted by young local entrepreneurs including Malai Ezzan Enterprise, Kyna Popsicles and Dimensions among others.
Malai Ezzan bin Malai Haszahrin, local youth entrepreneur of Malai Ezzan Enterprise said, “To be an entrepreneur you don’t need to be rich, you don’t need to have a degree in business and you don’t need to be always successful. The important thing is to have the drive so that nothing can stop you from reaching your business dreams.”
Other activities included Robot Racing from FIT students, kayaking, archery and nerf and gel gun shooting among others.
The event aimed to encourage Bruneian youth to start their dream businesses by inspiring them through youth startups and sharing experiences by successful local entrepreneurs.
The event also sought to promote tourism in Tasik Sarubing Recreational Park of Kampong Belimbing.
