A BRUNEI delegation departed for Saudi Arabia recently to participate in the 3rd International Al-Quran Memorisation Competition in Dubai which will be held until November 16.
Teacher from Institut Tahfiz Al-Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (ITQSHHB) Aqilah binti Haji Ayop has been selected to participate in the competition under 30 Juzuks Al-Quran category.
“My preparation began since September, and this is my first time taking part in an international competition. I hope I can gain new experience and do my best for the country,” she said.
She is accompanied by head of delegation Muhammad Irma Hazmie bin Haji Metusin and Haslinda binti Haji Ismail. Head of the Islamic Syiar Development Division at the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) Haji Madzneh bin Haji Mohd Noor, Acting Principal of ITQSHHB Pengiran Haji Amiruddin bin Pengiran Haji Damit and Head of Public Relations Division of MoRA Hassan Baha bin Haji Umar were present to send off the delegates at the Brunei International Airport.
