UJI Rashid, a veteran Malaysian artiste who shot to fame in the 1970s, seems to still be very much in the hearts of her fans in Brunei as hundreds came to join in the High-Tea bersama Dang Sanak dan Insan-Insan Seni at the Royal Brunei Recreation Club in Berakas on Sunday, where she was specially invited to the event.

Loyal fans were excited to see her as she entered the hall and greeted everyone with her warm and sweet smile, the majority of whom are also part of her family members in Brunei.

She was accompanied by her son, actor Ezzaq Farouq Harahap Jamaludin or popularly known as Cico, and granddaughter Rindu Norfitrah Ezzaq.

Her visit to Brunei was to pay respect to her late father’s cemetery as well as meet and catch up with her families in the country, but news of her coming to Brunei spread and a lot of people requested to join in the gathering, hence the high-tea was organised by Pengiran Metussin, a family member.

The veteran artiste, best known for her singing career and duets with Hail Amir and DJ Dave in the 1970s to 1980s, also tooked up to the stage and sang a couple of hit songs during her glory days, much to the excitement of her fans who also sang along and felt contented having being able to hear her sing live after so long.

During the event, fans crowded Uji Rashid and her son for a photo session.
