BRUNEI Darussalam’s pencak silat athletes are preparing for the 10th BIMP-EAGA Friendship Games on home soil and the World Pencak Silat Championships next month.
Brunei Darussalam will host the BIMP-EAGA Games from December 5-9 while the World Pencak Silat Championships will see the best athletes around the world converge at the OCBC Arena of the Singapore Sports Hub in Singapore on December 11- 17.
The national pencak silat athletes are undergoing training ahead of the BIMP-EAGA Games, which will see Brunei hosting the tournament for the second time after 2008 – at the Menglait Sports Complex.
Brunei’s Chef-de-Mission to the BIMP-EAGA Games Haji Muhd Nurul Azrin bin Haji Gani along with senior officers from the Department of Youth and Sports recently paid a visit to observe the progress of the pencak silat athletes.
The national pencak silat athletes will be managed by Haji Md Tahir bin Haji Jaludin as the pencak silat manager in the BIMP-EAGA Games.
