THE Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Indonesia organised the 8th Indo Defence 2018 Expo & Forum from November 7-10 at the JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, according to a press release.
Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof attended the expo and forum at the invitation of Minister of Defence of the Republic of Indonesia General (Rtd) Ryamizard Ryacudu.
He led a delegation from the Ministry of Defence and Royal Brunei Armed Forces’ (RBAF) to the exhibition yesterday.
The 8th Indo Defence 2018 Expo & Forum was officiated by Vice-President of the Republic of Indonesia Drs H Muhammad Jusuf Kalla, with the theme ‘Building Global Defence Partnerships to Secure the Future’.
The biennial Tri-service Defence Event attracted the participation of over 867 exhibitors from 60 countries including 25,000 delegates and trade visitors showcasing a range of military products and technology.
It also served as a platform for defence forces to assess the military capabilities.
The Minister of Defence II called on Minister of Defence of the Republic of Indonesia, while Commander of the RBAF Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud called on Vice Admiral Dr Didit Herdiawan Ashaf, MPA, MBA, Chief of General Staff, Indonesian National Armed Forces.
Both sides acknowledged the close bilateral relations shared between Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Indonesia, and also discussed potential areas for defence cooperation.
