THE Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) yesterday held a briefing for the team leaders participating in the mass gathering and procession for the national-level Maulidur Rasul celebration on November 20.

Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Religious) at the MoRA and Chairman of the Working Committee Haji Mohd Serudin bin Haji Timbang chaired the briefing.

Several agencies were also involved in the briefing, including the Department of Adat Istiadat Negara, the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, the Royal Brunei Police Force, the Fire and Rescue Department, the Ministry of Health and the Bandar Seri Begawan Municipal Department.

Over 13,000 participants from 126 teams in the Brunei-Muara District are expected to take part in the religious celebration starting from 7am, at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien in the capital.

Similar assemblies and processions will also be held in the other three districts.

This year’s event carries the theme Tarbiyah Rasulullah Membawa Rahmat Dalam Berkeluarga.

The participating teams will be grouped into five categories – uniformed units; ministries and government departments; secondary schools and institutes of higher education; associations, non-governmental organisations and the private sector; and village consultative councils and mosque takmir committees.
