DELEGATIONS from Standard Chartered Bank (SCB), volunteered to conduct the Junior Achievement (JA) Economics for Success Programme to over 60 students from Sayyidina Abu Bakar Secondary School and Katok Secondary School earlier this week.

The three-day programme was aimed at facilitating students with tips and thought processes on selecting a career, manage savings and spending, and more through engaging activities and games.

SCB Head of Corporate Affairs, Brand and Marketing Marilyn Graeme said, “As a financial institution, Standard Chartered is committed in driving commerce and prosperity in our community by leveraging on our core skills of providing financial advice and extending this to financial education for our community, especially our youth. Knowledge is empowering and will help our youth make better informed decisions on their financial circumstances as well as enable them to have courageous conversations about financial matters at home.”

Managing Director of Junior Achievement Brunei Louis Tan said, “This is the third year that Standard Chartered volunteered for this programme. It was a great contribution as the students showed positive feedback through the interactions. Hopefully, this will allow the students to have awareness of their skills and equip them with valuable lessons.”
