THE Government of Saudi Arabia through its Umrah and Haj Ministry held an annual Haj meeting and consultation at the Ministerial level for 1440 Hijrah at the Ministry of Haj and Umrah Building in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
Leading the Government of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam was the Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar while the Government of Saudi Arabia was led by its Deputy Minister of Haj and Umrah Dr Abdul Fattah bin Sulaiman Mashat.
Also present were Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to Saudi Arabia Dato Seri Setia Haji Yusoff bin Haji Ismail; Acting Consul General of Brunei Darussalam in Jeddah Pengiran Haji Irman bin Pengiran Haji Othman, and Acting Managing Director of Haj Management Haji Abdullah bin Haji Mohamad, and a representative of Royal Brunei Airlines Haji Abdul Nasir bin Haji Bolhassan.
Dr Abdul Fattah expressed his delight and appreciation to officers of Haj Affairs (Administration and Medical) of Brunei Darussalam for their efforts and lauded Brunei for being able to maintain good Haj management and administration.
Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom expressed appreciation to the Government of Saudi Arabia, Ministry of Umrah and Haj and relevant agencies in Saudi Arabia for its management and rendered to Brunei Haj pilgrims during 1439 Hijrah Haj season.
He lauded the high commitment of Ministry of Umrah and Haj in holding continous discussion and consultation on Haj matters with the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Brunei Darussalam for the safety, welfare and comfort of Brunei Haj pilgrims annually.
Dr Abdul Fattah and Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom signed an agreement and exchanged mementos.
