AR-RAFI Archery Brunei will organise the Brunei Traditional Archery Festival in conjunction with the Brunei December Festival (BDF) 2018 from January 4-6, 2019 at the Jerudong Sports Complex.
This was stated by Ar-Rafi Archery Brunei Chairman Pengiran Haji Radno bin Pengiran Haji Mohd Tahir at a media conference held at the Tourism Development Department of the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism recently.
The archery festival’s objectives are to enliven and promote traditional archery while also enhance the tourism industry and at the same time enhance public knowledge on traditional archery sport in the country.
Ar-Rafi Archery Brunei Secretary Pengiran Haji Reza bin Pengiran Haji Rani said that the organising committee has invited a professional traditional archer from abroad to showcase his professional skills, far distant shooting and fast shooting, to the public at the event.
To further enliven the competition, all participants are encouraged to wear traditional clothes and the organiser will give a prize to the participant wearing the most attractive traditional dress.
Classes will also be held on introduction to archery for members of the public. There will also be exhibition booths at the festival.
Members of the public are encouraged to participate in the competition and visit the festival. Registration for the competition is open until December 31.
