MINISTER of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea Kang Kyung-wha hosted a lunch for former Korean Government Scholarship Programme (KGSP) students at the Anjung Saujana Restaurant at the Brunei International Airport yesterday.

Six KGSP graduates, who studied in Korea for three to five years for their Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees, attended the lunch to talk about their experiences.

Kang emphasised on the graduates’ role as being the best asset between Brunei and Korea, while they expressed their wish to contribute to both countries through their understanding of the Korean culture and language.

Kang added that the Korean government is trying to strengthen its ties with all ASEAN member countries, particularly in terms of people-to-people relations.

“On this occasion, the Korean Embassy in Brunei Darussalam can network with the graduates more closely,” she said.

During her stay in Brunei on January 11-13, Kang had an audience with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.

She also had a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs II Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd Yusof.
