OVER 50 motorcycle enthusiasts from across the country gathered for the BMW Motorrad at QAF Auto Sdn Bhd yesterday, the first event of its kind in Brunei.

The gathering, held over brunch, saw members of the local biking community and motorcycle clubs celebrating their friendship over good food while feasting their eyes on the premium motorcycles on display at the BMW Motorrad showroom in Beribi.

Seven of the latest motorcycles from the German automaker were showcased during the event, ranging from popular adventure and sports bikes to café-care models.

Several new 2019 bike models were announced during the event, including the R1250GS and R1250GS Adventure, as well as the redesigned S1000RR superbike.

According to QAF Auto General Manager Sivakumar Krishnan, the dealership has been appointed as the official importer of BMW Motorrad since 2018, and has plans to tap into the Sabah and Sarawak markets in the future.

During the gathering, he handed over keys to the RS1200 GS to David Chen, the first delivery of the bike in Brunei.

Meanwhile, extending her appreciation to all motorcycle enthusiasts who came to support the first BMW Motorrad event yesterday, BMW Motorrad Manager Shan Tong said, “It is great to see so many enthusiastic men and women here celebrating and sharing their passion for riding and the innovation of motorcycles. BMW values and cherishes the friendship [we have with our clients] that lasts for many years to come.”
