FORTY-FOUR students in Years 7 and 8 at the Temburong Arabic Preparatory School recently attended a nationhood briefing organised by the Information Department, Temburong branch.
Titled Raja Kita, Menghayati Bendera dan Lagu Kebangsaan (Our Sovereign, Appreciation of the Flag and National Anthem), the programme is part of the Information Department’s continuing efforts to instil a love for the monarchy, religion and country among the younger generation.
The talk was delivered by Head of the Temburong Information branch Pengiran Arsul bin Pengiran Haji Abdul Momin, who touched on the Brunei monarchy, the history of the national anthem and the correct procedures of hoisting the national flag.
The students also watched a video clip on the national flag, which was followed by a quiz on the subject of nationalism.
Also present was the school Principal Morsidi bin Haji Tuah.
A similar briefing was also delivered last Tuesday at the Sayyidina Husain Secondary School Hall in Jerudong by Assistant Information Officer at the Nationhood Unit at the Nationhood and Community Division Mohammad Nur Akram bin Noraini @ Bahrin.
A total of 174 Year 7 students attended the briefing in the presence of the school’s Principal Dayangku Hajah Nooramaliatifah binti Pengiran Haji Ahmad.
