DPMM FC will be wary of the threat that Panchor Murai FC possess ahead of their much-anticipated clash in the DST Premier League at the Jerudong Mini Stadium today.
DPMM FC, the ‘B’ team of the side that compete in the Singapore Premier League (SPL), are aware of Panchor Murai’s experience since making their debut in Brunei’s second tier in 2016.
“As a new team, we will not take our opponents lightly, especially against a team (Panchor Murai) who have competed in the league for quite some time. We will try our best to win three points,” said DPMM FC Head Coach Haji Faizalani bin Haji Abdul Ghani in an interview with the Bulletin after a training session at the Jerudong Park Mini Stadium yesterday.
The head coach hoped that they can pull a surprise against Panchor Murai, who are currently unbeaten in third place.
The Jerudong-based club kept two clean sheets in their opening two games against Rimba Star and BSRC FT and Haji Faizalani hoped that their defence remain tight.
“Without a good defence, we will invite defeat,” he asserted.
Despite a strong start to the season which guided them to the top of the table, the head coach exercised caution on the unpredictability of football.
“Football is difficult to predict. But we hope for a consistent performance to provide good competition and try to win each match,” he added.
The team comprised players that represented the country at age group level including Abang Hazran bin Abang Hadzman who joined from DST Super League outfit Najip FC.
