THE Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) conducted the 98th Khatam Al-Quran ceremony in conjunction with the 98th Police Day Celebration 2019 at the Surau of the RBPF Headquarters in Gadong yesterday.

The guest of honour was Commissioner of Police Dato Paduka Seri Haji Mohd Jammy bin Haji Muhd Shah Al-Islam and spouse.

Acting Deputy Police Commissioner, directors, senior officers, officers and their spouses as well as low rank officers of the RBPF were also present.

The event saw 42 male and 56 female Khatam Al-Quran participants comprising male and female police officers, rank and file personnel and civilians of RBPF.

The ceremony commenced with the mass recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by ASP Wan Firdaus bin Haji Mohd Aminuddin followed by the reading of verses of Al-Quran and Takhtim by Khatam participants.

The event’s objective is to nourish the interest in reading Al-Quran among RBPF members. It also aimed to encourage Muslims to gain and elevate their knowledge in life as stated in the first five verses in Surah Al-‘Alaq which emphasises the importance of seeking knowledge.
