A HEALTHY lifestyle has many benefits, said Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohammad Isham bin Haji Jaafar.
He made this comment as the guest of honour at the launch of the Healthy Mukim Programme for Mukim Kuala Belait at the Golden Jubilee Recreational Park in Kuala Belait yesterday.
The minister, along with his wife Datin Dr Hajah Noralinah binti Haji Ramlee, officiated the launching ceremony.
The event was launched in conjunction with the first KBKu Ceria of 2019. The programme, organised by the MoH in collaboration with the Mukim Kuala Belait Consultative Council, aimed to promote awareness on several health issues in the country and promote a healthy lifestyle.
Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health (MoH) Haji Abdul Manap bin Othman, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Professional) at the MoH Dr Haji Zulaidi bin Haji Abdul Latif, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Management) at the MoH Maswadi bin Haji Mohsin, Acting Penghulu of Mukim Kuala Belait and Head of Kampong Pandan ‘B’ Haji Abdul Malik bin Haji Abu Bakar, Acting Belait District Officer Ridzuan bin Haji Ahmad as well as several officers from the MoH and government agencies in the Belait District were also present.

The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat by Mosque Affairs Officer at Muhammad Jamalul Alam Mosque Imam Akop bin Haji Lamat followed by a speech by Haji Abdul Malik.
Haji Abdul Malik expressed gratitude to the guest of honour and attendees for their support.
The minister, who lauded the support extended to ensure the programme’s success, presented certificates to participants.
The minister participated in aerobic sessions before flagging off the 4km walkathon.
A cycling expedition was also held after the walkathon flag-off.
