EIGHTEEN participants received their FIH AHF Raja Ashman Hockey Coaching Course certificates in a ceremony at the Coaching and Sports Development Unit Conference Room of the Hockey Stadium in the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex yesterday.
Acting Director of the Department of Youth and Sports Mariam binti Ulat presented the certificates. The course was conducted by Lim Chiow Chuan.
President of the Brunei Darussalam Hockey Association Mansor bin Haji Ibrahim said the coaching course was a collaboration between the Brunei Darussalam Hockey Association and the Asia Hockey Federation.
The president added that Level 1 Hockey Coaching Course is in line with the objectives of Brunei Darussalam Hockey Association in carrying out grassroots development programmes through districts and schools development schemes.
“I sincerely hope that the coaches will continuously work hard in helping the Hockey Association make the programme a success, as well as boost their self-confidence in becoming high-quality coaches,” said Mansor.
“At the same time, the association will always aid and give support towards the professional development of coaches to a much higher level, in line with the path of coaching development, which is the coaching education pathway of the FIH Hockey Academy.”
