EIGHT youth left Brunei Darussalam yesterday for India to represent the Sultanate at the 2nd ASEAN-India Youth Summit.

The summit is scheduled to be held in Guwahati in the Northeastern Indian State of Assam from today until February 6.

The Brunei representatives were chosen according to their individual accomplishments in various areas.

They will be joined at the summit by youth leaders from other nine ASEAN member countries Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Myanmar, Singapore, Vietnam, the Philippines and Laos.

The summit will provide a platform for the participants from ASEAN member countries to interact with youth leaders in India, as well as discuss topics such as economic connectivity, entrepreneurship and skill development, and cultural and historical linkages between India and ASEAN member countries.

The youth will also participate in yoga and meditation sessions, visit the Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary and experience a cruise trip on the Brahmaputra River before returning to their countries.
