THE Information Department through its Belait District Branch held its Nationhood Programme for Sayyidina Ali Secondary School (SMSA) students at the school’s multi-purpose hall on Saturday.
Eighty-six Year 7 students attended the programme. It aimed to promote patriotism by learning about several topics pertainnig to His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam as well as the national flag and anthem.
The school’s Deputy Principal of Administration Hajah Mazizan binti Haji Mohammad welcomed several officers led by Head of the Information Department in the Belait District Pengiran Haji Ahmad Fadillah Akhbar bin Pengiran Haji Sellahuddin.
Pengiran Haji Ahmad Fadillah Akhbar delivered briefings titled Raja Kita, Menghayati Bendera dan Lagu Kebangsaan (Our Sovereign, Appreciation of the Flag and National Anthem). The briefing focussed on the history of the Brunei monarchy, procedures of hoisting the national flag and history of the national anthem.
Videos titled Kibarkanlah Dengan Megah Bendera Negara, Semarak Pengibaran Bendera Negara and Tatacara Menaikkan Bendera Negara were presented.
Students also participated in quizzes and received goodie bags from the Information Department.
