SAYYIDINA Abu Bakar Secondary School through the Malay Language, Malay Literature and Malay Islamic Monarchy Department in collaboration with the English Department held the Gerakan Cinta Membaca and ‘Listen and Win’ programmes recently.
The programme was officiated by the school Principal Sia Ai Chin, Deputy Principal (Academic) Hajah Junaidah binti Haji Tajudin and Deputy Principal (Administration) Hanah Norashikin binti Abdul Rahman.
The Gerakan Cinta Membaca programme requires the students to participate in daily activities including reading, Perbedaharaan Kata, Peribahasa, Mutiara Kata atau Hadis and quizzes.
The ‘Listen and Win’ programme encourages students to read English fiction books and to improve comprehension skills, vocabulary and confidence in using English Language.
The literacy programmes, designed to encourage students to read more books aim to provide students with the information and knowledge and nurture their self-esteem.
